After baking in the sun it pooped right out. Same can’t be said for the cracked paint and scratches, but MEH.

But while I was in there I found out why my horn sounds so piddly and weak.

Kinja'd!!!

Its a single high note, pointed at the ground and surrounded by plastic. I might have to get something LOUDER.

Speaking of loud I had some ticking noises coming from the cowl area that Mazda has a TSB for. Yank the wipers, cowl, etc, and tighten the 6 or 8 ( i forgot ) 10mm bolts to stop the noise.

While under the hood I also replaced the sparklers. Car’s got 12 years and 97k miles on her, and I think these were original.

Oh, and the whole reason for working on the car was to replace the hydraulic fluid filled motor mount that always goes bad on 3s and 5s and Focii.

Except for the motor slipping off the jack (whoops) it went pretty smoothly.

I once saw a mazda 3 motor mount go at a rally cross. The motor was about 3 inches too low on the drivers side and twisting towards the firewall big time (about 20 degrees clockwise and leaning back about 5).

Oh that’d be the tranny mount. Yeah those things wreak havoc when they let loose. The Speed cars were even recalled due to mount failures.
